Gum resin, rosin or gum rosin, is a natural, vegetable-based raw material that was already being used by the ancient Romans and Egyptians. It is a hard, acidic diterpene resin extracted from pine wood. Our pure and light gum resin is delivered in easy-to-dose pastilles, has a low dust content and is soluble in alcohols, oils and oil/wax mixtures by heating in a water bath. Wax polish or varnish with gum resin create an excellent water-repellent surface. Rosin is also one of the best fluxes for soldering, as it does not cause corrosion, unlike soldering water or soldering grease. Melting point 80-100 °C
