These adult sessions are designed for complete beginners, and adults who have played a little bit, but would like to learn a bit more about ornamentation and technique. The sessions are 2 hours long (with time for a cup of tea as well!) and are held at Mannin Music Shop. Please bring your own D whistle if you have one, or we have a variety of whistles available to buy in the shop. Prices start from £5. Sunday 17th 2pm-4pm – we will look at the basics of reading notation on the whistle, breathing technique and start with some ornamentation. Sunday 31st 2pm-4pm – this session will build on the last session, but it’s fine to just join in with this one if you already have some knowledge of how to play. There will be a lot more focus on more advanced ornamentation in this session. Most of the repertoire will be Manx music, but we’ll do some Scottish and Irish tunes too!
