Although many owners leave the assemblies in place during the season, the system is intended to assist with installation, removal, and leveling rather than serve as a permanent load-support component while the lift is carrying a boat. If you leave the system installed, verify that the wheels are not contacting the lake bottom after setup. Bottom contact can create unwanted stress on the lower frame tubes, axle assembly, wheel stops, and wheels. In areas with frequent wave action or changing water levels, we strongly recommend removing at least the wheels once the lift is in position to help reduce unnecessary wear over time. Please Note: The Smarte Jack is not intended to support the load of a boat while the watercraft is parked on the hoist.
